Sustainability & Sarawak Energy Staff Campaign
On 29th June 2020, Group CEO Datu Haji Sharbini Suhaili launched the Sustainability & Sarawak Energy Staff Campaign. This campaign targets to strengthen our sustainability agenda at the corporate level and create staff buy-in to internalise sustainability at the individual level in line with our ambition for a sustainable energy future. About 700 colleagues across Sarawak joined the virtual live broadcast of this event.
Highlights at the launch of the campaign included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Global Compact Network Malaysia (GCMY) to collaborate in sustainability initiatives. Hajah Siti Aisah Adenan, SVP for Corporate Services signed on behalf of Sarawak Energy while Faroze Nadar, Executive Director for GCMY represented his organisation. To further demonstrate our commitment towards sustainability, we pledged to “Business Action for 1.5°C”, a commitment to the global movement in addressing climate change.
A panel discussion with Datu Haji Sharbini and sustainability experts from GCMY, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Global Reporting Initiative also took place to better understand sustainability from the different perspectives.
