Refining the Plans and Responsibilities of Stakeholders Involved

The BRP and WiMOR workshop for Baleh HEP was recently held to identify and refine the scope of the plans as well as the responsibilities of every internal and external stakeholder who will be engaged. During the workshop, participants shared their past experiences and related ongoing studies to provide better insight on BRP and WiMOR at Baleh HEP.

Participating in the workshop were our colleagues from Health, Safety, Security and Environment, Baleh Project Delivery, Research & Development, Hydro Owners Project Management and Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability teams as well as officers from the Forest Department Sarawak.

The workshop was jointly organised by the Health, Safety, Security and Environment Department and the Baleh Project Delivery Department. Officiating at the workshop was General Manager for Heath, Safety and Environment, Ir. Robin Tigai and Project Director for Baleh HEP, Tang Han Kiak.

Position	Senior Manager II for Sustainability Division
Portfolio	Irwan’s main responsibility is to develop and implement sustainability strategies that reflects Sarawak Energy’s values and supports the long-term business plans. He holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and a Master in Business Administration. Prior to joining Sarawak Energy, Irwan was a consultant/country representative for Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities Co., Ltd. from 2008–11 and a technical expert for Tenaga Nasional Berhad from 1998–2008. In addition to his working experience, he also had been engaged as a technical advisor in various local and international projects related to sustainability projects, such as: Korea–Malaysia ASEAN CDM +3 & NAMA Program; Malaysia Grid Emission Baselines; Malaysia–Denmark CDM Implementation Action Plan; Malaysia Energy Balance & Emission Inventory for National Communication 2; and Malaysia Standard for Carbon Emission at Organisation Level (ISO 14000/TC 207).

Position	Executive for Sustainability Analysis & Reporting
Portfolio	Zaimie’s main role is to assist in the development of Sarawak Energy’s Sustainability Report, monitoring data governance and system as well as its indicators. He also involved in executing other sustainability initiatives and assisting to embed sustainability good practices in the business operation. Graduated from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, he has a Master in Business Administration (Communication & Public Relations).

Position	Senior Executive for Sustainability Strategy & Standards
Portfolio	Darylynn graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia. Darylynn is currently involved in developing sustainability strategies and embedding standards, particularly in hydropower projects and operations. She was also involved in developing policy, procedures and guidelines in ensuring the Company’s operations, mainly thermal and hydropower plants, are in compliance with local legal requirements.

Portfolio	Khairin graduated in Master of Renewable Energy from University of Malaya, Malaysia. Currently, she is involved in embedding global best practices in the development of hydropower sustainability initiative.
